BATTERY RECYCLING

Last year just under 10% of portable batteries in the UK were recycled. New regulations which came into force on the 1st February 2010 require recycling levels to rise to 45% of batteries placed on the market by 2016. This equates to over 500 million batteries. In 2011 the target is 18% or over 8000 tonnes.

MBM Omega would like to recommend WasteCare’s BatteryBack service for your battery recycling. Batteries are classed as a hazardous waste stream and with WasteCare’s extensive background in hazardous waste disposal they are perfectly positioned to provide a safe, clean and efficient battery disposal process.

There is an initial installation fee for the recycling containers. Collection is either free (depending on weight) or can be arranged from one of over 15,000 collection collection points in the UK. For further information and an instant quote please visit http://www.batteryback.org
